Adam Honeysett-Watts runs do Different., a Westminster-based public affairs, communications, digital, and events consultancy. Working alongside a trusted network of talented freelance professionals, he helps businesses and individuals navigate a fast-changing world with both confidence and creativity.
With over 18 years of experience in agencies - including a top-three global consultancy, senior in-house roles, and now his own independent business, Adam brings deep expertise in advocacy, reputation management, digital engagement, and making an impact at conferences. His clients include corporations, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and trade associations across a range of sectors.
Adam has been active in right-of-centre politics for two decades. He has provided strategic advice and tactical support on parliamentary campaigns, leadership and Speaker contests, and mayoral bids. He re-founded and leads the Conservatives in Communications (CiC) network and oversaw the re-branding of City Hall Conservatives. Under his direction, CiC has grown to over 1,600 supporters, with endorsements from one in ten Conservative MPs. Building on this tried-and-tested model, he co-founded and manages Conservatives For Business, a platform that connects SME owners & entrepreneurs with elected Conservatives. His passion for championing small businesses is rooted in his East Yorkshire upbringing, where his family have run various enterprises for generations.
Adam is a committed advocate for the communications industry. He mentors emerging talent and promotes career opportunities through his Job Promotion Service. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. He serves on the PRCA's PR and Communications Board and Membership Committee, where he was named one of the organisation's "25 for 2025" volunteers. He also sits on the CIPR Public Affairs Group Committee and was honoured with a peer-nominated Volunteer Recognition Award. Adam is a Court Assistant (and Liveryman) and member of the Financial Services Group within the Worshipful Company of Communicators. He is also a Freeman of the City of London and a member of the Free Speech Union, which defends freedom of thought, expression, and of the press.
Adam enjoys good food and lively conversation at favourite London haunts, including The Carlton Club, La Poule au Pot, and Old Queen Street Café. He's a frequent traveller to Italy, Greece, and France, and a voracious reader, favouring memoirs, biographies, and current affairs. His regular reading includes The Telegraph, The Times, The Spectator, The Critic, The European Conservative, and The New Statesman, as well as UnHerd, Spiked, and podcasts from Lotus Eaters and New Culture Forum. For lighter fare, he turns to British GQ, Esquire, and Gentleman's Journal for insights into modern culture, style, and living.
Lately, he's been delving into family history and enjoys running scenic routes around Battersea Power Station, Westminster, and the South Bank Book Market - when not on his Peloton. He dreams of opening a book and antique shop, complemented by a coffee and wine bar.
Adam studied British and European politics at the University of East Anglia (UEA) and has proudly supported UEA's 'Difference Campaign' for nearly a decade. In fact, do Different. takes its name from an old Norfolk saying: "People in Norfolk do things different." Now based in Kennington, South London, Adam shares a home renovation project with his partner, Alan, and their Labrador, Albert (Albie). When escaping the city, they love countryside adventures in their trusty 20-year-old Land Rover Freelander.
Introducing Albie, Chief Canine Officer at do Different., though he didn't start off as an Albert. Born Kentwone Clementine Boy, this three-year-old Labrador enjoys flaunting his presence in Kennington Park, which was once known as Kennington Common and played a pivotal part in the Chartist Movement.
"Adam and I collaborated for a six-year tenure while at DTCC. During this time, he held responsibility for various business lines and co-managed our consultancies in New York, London, Singapore, and Sydney. I greatly admired Adam's working style, as it consistently generated favourable press coverage for my product line and related subjects in our target media. Today, we are once again teaming up as I introduce SSImple to the market."
"Adam proactively volunteered to relaunch Tories in Comms and has made an enormous impact. He is responsible for its 1,500-strong membership, liaising with industry and circa 60 parliamentary patrons, its content (website, newsletter, and social), and successful event programmes. Well done, thank you, and best wishes, Adam."
"Since 2010, Adam has championed getting more women into politics, and I was delighted to have him work on my bids to become Deputy Speaker in 2013, Speaker in 2019, and Chairman of Ways & Means in 2020. He is very talented and committed, and he is bursting with energy for the projects he enjoys. Adam, I wish you the best of British luck with your business. I am confident it will be rewarding for you, your clients, and the wider society."
"Adam and I have known one another for ten years, and our professional paths have crossed many times. He has been a great support throughout my political career, from being a parliamentary researcher and involved in the youth wing to my experiences as a special adviser, in-house, and now an MP. As I've told him in private, I trust Adam's new adventure will be a big success, and I look forward to us working together again in the future."
"Adam was my go-to person at The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC), one of the largest employers in the constituency and in North Wales, and he helped out during the general election. He is extremely reliable, and he continues to offer sound advice about local communications and more. I will be keeping an eye on how things progress and suspect this new offering will be very well-received. Congratulations on making the bold move."
"Adam acted as our outside public affairs support, including as secretariat for the UN Women APPG, while I led the NGO's presence in the UK for several years. He's well-connected and understands that networking and relationships are the keys to success. Observing from a distance, I am impressed with what Adam has achieved and applaud his continued fight for gender equality. I've no concerns about recommending him to corporations and individuals who need his support."
"Adam was part of the Corporate & Crisis Communications team at B-M in London, although it was obvious that he had a flair for public affairs. He was strong in both areas and supported local and global briefs. Adam enjoys a challenge and excels at being client-focused. He's also proven to work well in-house. Adam's flair and entrepreneurial skills have been first-class through his management of Tories in Comms. I'm confident do Different. will succeed."
"Adam was integral to helping me build and grow Hume Brophy's UK public affairs offering from 2010 to 2013, and we have remained in touch ever since. He's smart, hard-working, and well organised. We worked on many challenging and innovative campaigns together, having fun along the way. Adam's charm and good friendship mean he has a strong and loyal network in Westminster and Whitehall with MPs, aides, and politicos."
"I worked with Adam on a number of accounts at Cognito PR & Marketing. After he left to learn about all things lobbying and crisis communications, I left to co-found a new consultancy in NYC. Years later, Adam moved in-house, and we reconnected when his team was searching for a new US-based agency. After we won the pitch process, the two of us were again working together. Adam gets things done, and there's never a dull moment. Good luck with your latest venture."
